Canada's best in coverage, quality, and delivery
Manderley is Canada's largest sod producer with more than 6,000 acres in production. With major production centres in Tayside (near Ottawa), Fort Saskatchewan (near Edmonton) and Glenmore (near Calgary), Manderley has the geographic reach to service all of Alberta as well as Eastern Ontario, Montreal, Quebec City, and a number of smaller Canadian communities.
From humble beginnings to global presence
Manderley was founded in 1960 by John Hope on one farm in Kemptville, Ontario, a small community just south of Ottawa. An ambitious man, Hope grew Manderley into one of the largest sod companies in the world with farms across Canada and the United States. Hope's leadership at Manderley was instrumental in the formation of the sod industry in Canada and abroad, including important industry associations such as the Nursery Sod Growers of Ontario, the Quebec Sod Producers, and Turf Producers International.
On the cutting edge: Manderley International
In the 1990s, Manderley expanded into specialized turfgrass and began to service the golf industry with a host of grass varieties and a new installation division. As Manderley's reputation in the golf world grew, so did interest from around the globe. The result was Manderley International, a venture that partners with some of the world's best turfgrass breeders to market grasses worldwide. Today Manderley International does business everywhere from China to South America, from Cyprus to Singapore, working with top designers including Gary Player and Arnold Palmer.
