CASE STUDIES
Royal Ontario Golf Course

Location: Milton, Ontario
Description: The newest addition to the Kaneff Golf Group, the par 72 Royal Ontario was completed in  2002 on a stunning piece of land north of Oakville. The 18-hole championship course has been built on land so perfectly suited, with mature trees, an abundance of water and a design that moves fluidly with the existing landscape.
Architect: Ted Baker & Associates Ltd.
Contractor: GolfTracks Inc.
Scope: Primary roughs, tee-deck surfaces & surrounds, bunkers, collars, fairways
Project Duration: 45 days
Grand Opening: Spring 2003
Turfgrass: Premium Kentucky Bluegrass (primary roughs), Manderley’s 3-way Bentgrass
Grassing Method: Combination small/big roll, sodded fairways
Installation: Manderley’s NTS™ – Natural Turf Systems™
Project Synopsis: Starting in mid-September 2001 and completed in mid November 2001,  this 18-hole track was completed in record time.  The concept of a tee to green sodded course was the plan from the beginning.  Kaneff Golf was adamant to deliver a prestigious course that played as a mature course from opening day. In fact, the decision to grass the entire course was approved by the ownership. The tree-lined fairways provide a panoramic view of what appears to be a course many years in the making.  Manderley NTS™ and GolfTracks worked in partnership on each hole to deliver Kaneff and Ted Baker their original vision.  All of this was accomplished despite 21 days of rain during the project duration.
Client Testimonial: "Given the opportunity, I would sod every fairway with bentgrass.  The cost-savings combined with the accelerated opening date are well worth the initial investment" —Ted Baker
